So I've been re reading Paradise Lost for my thesis. I was reading a very long passage on landscapes and different kinds of vegetables when all of the sudden:
"Two of far nobler shape erect and tall, God-like erect, with native honor clad In naked majesty seemed lords of all."
The fact that I know that the passage refers to Adam and Eve, and talks about how they can stand up straight does nothing to stop the images of two Gundam pilots (Duo and Heero keep appearing in my mind) standing in front of each other in all /their/ naked majesty. The first time I read this none of those images appeared in my mind and I didn't have the urge to copy the fragment and find a way to include it in a lemon, which I don't write, won't write…
And speaking of writing, here's an update on my writing projects.
Action!Quatre Challenge for SDQB Deadline: September. Bunny Status: A little tiny bunny that I'm still not sure it'll work ^^;;
Whumped!Quatre Fic Deadline: October 2 Bunny Status: All grown up and biting hard.
4,800 / 12,000 (40.0%)
Lady Wing Summer Challenge Deadline: September Bunny Status: No bunny *pokes the last bunny* I guess I'll just need to ask Dorothy what she wants and go from there.
Hollow Deadline: No deadline Bunny Status: Fully grown sneaky bunny.
11,500 / 20,000 (57.0%)
Drabbles: I need to finish Ruth's and write Hex's.
WIP: They all have an extra chapter written to be posted eventually but I won't be working on new chapters until I get the things above out of the way.
Notice how the things I have more time to write are the one flowing right now? And those with the closest deadlines are not being written? That can't be good.
Interesting Paradise Lost quote. I can see how it would bring out what's on the mind most of all... *smile*
As for the writing - guh! I don't even want to think about it! I'm this →← close from finishing one and this → ← from finishing another. The rest are all on their own.
Oh, scrumptious PL quote! The language is so sensual and masculine. Milton's writing in PL never fails to make me feel awed and goosebumpy. I look forward to hearing how your thesis progresses!
